Webconf.asia postponed

Given the current events and situation in Hong Kong, we are forced to postpone this year's edition of Webconf.asia.

The core of the event was planned to take place on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, in Tai Kwun's The Cube. Over the last weekend, we have seen that Tai Kwun has been closed and all events have been canceled.

Given the recent events, we feel we can no longer guarantee a smooth and pleasant event for our participants and speakers. We can not guarantee easy travel to and within Hong Kong, catering nearby the conference location, or even a conference venue that is open/available.

We have not taken this decision lightly, and have kept hope until last week that the situation would improve (enough) so we could still hold a great event. Unfortunately, we feel that this is no longer the situation, and therefore we feel obliged to postpone. It’s breaking our hearts and we are very sorry.

We are working on a new date, which is likely going to be August 2020. We try to keep most things unchanged such as the venues and the speakers.

If you’re still visiting Hong Kong or if you’re living in Hong Kong — we plan to run a free small alternative event with local speakers and drinks. More information will follow.

We hope we will see you in 2020 and we promise we’ll do our best to make up for this.
